As Told By Ellie

Ellie Blake | Raleigh, NC = hometown | Gulf Breeze, FL = current city

I started my business on April Fool's day because I don't like to take anything in life too seriously. I wanted my cards to be just as high quality as Hallmark only with cuss words and snarky comments. I also have a podcast (F*ck The Status Quo) where I often interview other funny entrepreneurs and creatives.

MILLER

Carmen Miller Manning | Madrid, Spain / Charlottesville, VA

MILLER was born out of a love for fashion and the world around us. It’s no secret that the fashion industry is one of the main contributors to the decline of the environment, but that doesn’t mean we can't make a difference. It is my mission to use sustainable materials to create one-of-a-kind garments.

MILLER focuses on using 100% GOTS certified cotton that has been digitally printed with fabric designs that are created in-house. Digitally printed fabrics = no harmful dyes or chemicals being leaked into local waterways. Also, the fabrics are printed in small batches so there is no waste. For the sheer fabrics, only discontinued, deadstock fabrics are used that are being saved from ending up in a landfill. Each MILLER piece is hand-made in a small studio in Barcelona.

TELUNA

Diana Johnson | Reston, VA

Teluna is a textile brand and design studio offering stationery and home goods for those looking to bring connection and comfort into their lives. Every design starts with an original painting layered with hand lettering or illustrations. Designs are then digitally printed in the U.S. with environmentally-friendly inks onto heavy card stock or 100% natural heavy cotton and transformed into the final products.

THE WILD HARE

THE WILD HARE
Anna Evans | Lynchburg, VA

"I created The Wild Hare at the beginning of 2019 when I realized that I was going to have to find something to do with the hundreds of beautiful fabric bits and pieces I had accumulated (hoarded) over the years! When I'm not seated at my sewing machine, you can find me teaching, running in the mountains, or with my nose in a book."

THE WIN CANDLE

Matthew Winston | Troy, VA

"All of our candles are hand-poured in small batches using a virgin coconut soy wax blend, which burns cleaner and longer compared to any other waxes. We use wooden wicks that provide a soft therapeutic crackling sound and a blend of richly scented fragrance and essential oils. We carefully source our ingredients to create sustainable products that are phthalate-free, petroleum-free, and cruelty-free. We pride ourselves on our excellent craftsmanship and providing all of our customers with eco-friendly products."
